Plain: A 20 page booklet with 19 black and white photographs and accompanying text describing the term “vernacular architecture” in regards to Northeastern USA.The images from 2000 document Allston, Massachusetts (a section of Boston) where Andrew S. Guthrie had a gallery and/or studio for 17 years.
Ruins: A 20 page booklet with 17 color photographs and accompanying text concerning recently evacuated ruins found in the hillsides of Hong Kong, 2005 – 2008. This evidence was uncovered through aimless wandering, particularly on rediscovered, unauthorized or little used trails.
